Bodega Bay to Fort Bragg

We woke early, tossed our crew woman off onto the dock so she could go to her nice comfortable warm dry Volvo, and we pulled out.

Out the channel into what we call the "Pacific Ocean". It's seldom as peaceful as you might think. But this morning it was pretty slick:

We saw some wildlife - Rizzos dolphin,

Dahl's porpoise, humpback whales, fin whales, etc etc.

including many more of the little sailing jellyfish colonies known as Valella Valella (see Wikipedia - I can't look up the link right now ).

After 9 hours and 90 nautical miles (half of it yawning, the other half holding on for dear life), we came to the Noyo River and pulled into port.

Thanks to shore crew lady Laurie we have photos of the boat underway.

We are a beautiful sight in this very very busy fishing port.

Jim schmoozed us into a dockside mooring!

We are grateful for the luxury of 120v and a boat that's not moving for a few hours.

We celebrated with a bottle of Pinot Noir  and some local garlic & butter infused steaks.

Our destination tomorrow is Eureka.  Our departure is 5 am.  Our bedtime should be now.

But Jim is out sealing a leaky porthole. And Laurie is interviewing the young guys from Santa Cruz who are here salmon fishing.

Yachting is such a relaxing life ... It's blogging that wears me out!
